Many encient stalwarts have
come from this temple culture. Gaan Saraswati Kishori
Amonkar, her legendry mother Gaan Tapaswi Mogubayee
kurdikar, the great Vocalist and Marathi Theatre personality
Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar, Tabla Maestro Khaprumam
Parvatkar, Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki,
Violinist Shridhar Parsekar, Sarangi
player Anant Kerkar and many more are the shining
jewels the temple cukture has gifted the world.
These gifted maestros have created a rich legacy. Many talented
musicians, Vocalist and sitar players have found inspiration
from this, and have made their mark in the music field.
This site belongs to one such
bright and young talented musician Yograj.
He is a present face of young musician hailing from Goa. Yograj
is the deciple of renouned sitarist from itwa gharana ustad
Shahid Parvez. Under his able guidance Yograj
has blossomed into a matured and seasoned Sitarist. A perfect
blend of Gayaki and Laykari is unique feature of Yograj. Today
he is looked upon as true representative of Itwa gharana.
He was born in the family of musicians. His grandmother Pirozbai
was the disciple of legendary maestro of Agra Gharana
Ustad Nanhe Khan.
Even at the tender age Yograj
held great affinity Towards Music. His grandmother encouraged
and initiated him to Hindustani Classical Music. Soon the soulful
call of sitar found an eco in the heart of Yograj. In the beginning
he learnt Sitar from Ustad Karim Khan of Bikaner Bande
Ali Khan Gharana.
At the age of 15 Yograj gave
his first performance, Since then he has performed in all major
Music Festivals throughout India. His creativity has found profound
expression through soulful Aalaap and Laykari.
He truly believes music has no boundaries and good music belongs
to the whole world.
He has
successfully conducted many programs of fusion music, blending
pure Hindustani Classical Music with Jazz, pop and rock music.
He has also composed more than 50 songs in Marathi and Konkani
many awards and testimony to his talent. His songs are often
played at All India Radio. He strongly believes that there are
no shortcuts to success and achievements. He ever strives for
perfection. For him perfection is one continuous process, like
a river it flows to meet the ocean of Bliss!!
